WFTO Audit in Progress

This week MESH is undergoing it's first World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) audit. We have been practicing and promoting fair trade for thirty years, now we are formalising that with the visit of an external auditor appointed by WFTO. He is auditing against WFTO principles, MESH and also 13 of the groups that supply MESH . There is no pass or fail but rather an opportunity for us to learn how we and the groups we work with can improve. The final result will be recommendations for improvement which we shall work on in the coming years. We shall also be permitted to label those products from the groups we have included, as coming from organisations that practice fair trade.
