Tatting AND Book-Binding
Shanti and Anna Mary from Anand Crafts finished five days of book binding training in MESH Design Studio yesterday. They now have some home work to do making some fabric-bound and paper-bound note books. Producing for sale in MESH shop gives them a chance to demonstrate the techniques to the other members of Anand Crafts, gain in expertise and also work out the costing and pricing.
Anand Crafts members are already expert in tatting but in the last couple of years there has been a fall in demand for their tatted products. Book-binding is a diversification of their skills in the hope that during the periods when there is no demand for their tatted products they can still be employed making note books.
